Is GoHighLevel free?

No. There is no free forever plan. GoHighLevel has a 14 day free trial with full access, and after that the cheapest plan is 97 dollars a month, checked on gohighlevel.com/pricing in August 2026. The two higher plans are 297 and 497 dollars a month. Free tools do exist for parts of the job, but each covers one piece, so most owners end up running three or four of them.

What the 14 day trial actually gives you

The trial is full access, not a cut-down demo, so you can put your real phone number and real enquiries through it and see what happens. Card details are asked for at sign-up, which is normal, and you cancel inside the fourteen days if it is not for you.

  • One inbox that collects texts, emails, Facebook and Instagram messages together
  • Missed call text back, so a missed call gets an automatic text within seconds
  • A booking calendar with reminders before the appointment
  • Follow-up sequences that chase quotes and enquiries for you
  • Automatic review requests after a job is finished

Two weeks is enough to answer the only question that matters: did fewer enquiries go cold. Set up the missed call text and one follow-up sequence on day one rather than exploring every menu, or the fortnight disappears into settings screens.

What it costs once the trial ends

  • Starter, 97 dollars a month, which is the plan almost every single business needs
  • Unlimited, 297 dollars a month, aimed at people running it for several businesses
  • Agency Pro, 497 dollars a month, for agencies reselling it
  • Enterprise, priced on a conversation
  • Paying yearly is cheaper than paying monthly, around ten percent off at the time of checking

Prices are in US dollars and were checked on the GoHighLevel pricing page in August 2026. Texts and calls are billed separately on top, by usage, because they are real network costs. The pricing explained page breaks that part down properly.

The free options, and what they really cost

There are free tools that do one part of this well. The catch is never the price, it is that each one only holds a piece of the picture, so nothing joins up and you become the join.

  • Free calendar booking tools handle appointments, but do not chase the enquiry that never booked
  • Free email tools send newsletters, but do not see a missed call or a text
  • A free CRM tier stores contacts, then charges once you want the automatic follow-up that was the whole point
  • A spreadsheet is genuinely free and genuinely works, right up until you are busy, which is exactly when enquiries get missed

Add two or three paid upgrades together and the monthly total usually lands near the 97 dollars anyway, with the difference that your enquiries are now spread across four logins. If you want the paid options compared side by side, the alternatives page does that without pretending everything else is rubbish.

Ask yourself

Would the free route actually work for you?

  • You get fewer than a handful of enquiries a month
  • Every enquiry comes down one route, such as the phone, and nowhere else
  • You are at a desk and can reply within the hour, every time
  • Nobody has told you in the last year that they never heard back

Four yeses and free tools are fine, so keep your money. One or two noes and the thing costing you work is not the software price, it is the enquiries going cold while you are busy.

Who should not pay for it

If enquiries are rare, or you already reply within minutes and nothing slips, this is an expensive way to fix a problem you do not have. Honest answer: try the fourteen days, count how many enquiries it caught that you would otherwise have missed, and multiply by what one customer is worth to you. If that number is not comfortably above 97 dollars, do not pay for it.

Want to see it running?

GoHighLevel is the tool we use for all of this in our own business. You can try everything on the 14-day free trial and judge it on results.

Common questions

Does GoHighLevel have a free plan?

No. There is no free forever tier. The only free access is the 14 day trial, and after that a paid plan starts at 97 dollars a month, checked on the GoHighLevel pricing page in August 2026.

Do I need a card for the free trial?

Yes, card details are taken at sign-up, which is standard for trials of this kind. Nothing is charged during the fourteen days, and cancelling before the trial ends stops it there. Put a reminder in your diary for day twelve so the decision is yours rather than the calendar's.

Is the 14 day trial the full product?

Yes, the trial gives full access rather than a limited demo, so you can connect your real number and run real enquiries through it. That matters, because the only useful test is whether your own enquiries stop going cold, and you cannot test that on sample data.

Is there a cheaper way to get the same thing?

Not in one place, at the time of checking. You can assemble most of it from separate tools, some free and some paid, and plenty of owners do. The trade is that the pieces do not talk to each other, so you carry the joining work yourself, which is the part that fails on a busy week.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Export your contacts before you cancel rather than after. That is good practice with any tool you trial, not a criticism of this one, and it takes about two minutes. Keep the export somewhere you can find it, because a contact list you cannot reach is the same as one you do not have.
